The type L (low to medium duty) pumps was designed specifically for continuous use in slurry type applications where a large flow at a low to medium developed head is required. The Type L pump with its encapsulated design is similar in design to the AH pump, but with a significantly reduced physical size when compared to the AH pump range.
The pump is available with interchangeable liner options including both metal and various grades of elastomer depending on the application.
Design and Unique Features
1. The heavy duty encapsulated design, with both metal and elastomer wet-
end components, is ideally suited for aggressive slurry applications in the horizontal arrangement.
2. With the large eye to impeller diameter ratio the pump is capable of moving large volumes while producing a low to medium developed head. This ensures that the pump can be operated in the most efficient region in low head applications.
3. The first metricated design range, the Type L has a pump designation based on the discharge diameter in millimetres.
4. The large volume casing design reduces velocities which further reduce wear in the pump.
5. Robust heavy duty bearing assemblies consisting of heavy duty taper rollers, minimum shaft overhang and rigid large diameter shafts, all contributes to trouble free operation.
6. A unique "-10" (dash 10) end cover assembly comprising V-Seals, double piston rings and an external flinger with grease lubricated labyrinths is standard with all Slurry Pumps.
7. The cartridge type bearing assembly can easily be removed for maintenance.
8. Available with centrifugal, stuffing box or mechanical seal arrangement.
