Recently, ABB upgraded the company's Remote Diagnostics Service (RDS) software to help strengthen the analysis and forecasting capabilities of ship maintenance.
After internal research, ABB found that existing remote equipment monitoring can reduce maintenance costs by 50% and 70% of engineers' on-site repair service costs, and the upgraded software can provide more ship operation transparency for shipowners onshore. .
Kenneth Nakken, vice president of digital services for ABB's ship and port business, said, "By 2020, through our integrated operations solutions and operations centers, we will be able to connect 3,000 ships worldwide. We develop all digital solutions based on customer needs. It is believed that this new forecasting service will strengthen the understanding of the ship's parties on operations."
In addition, ABB has developed hardware that is integrated with remote diagnostic service software for monitoring large and small transmission machinery, improving the graphical user interface and increasing the user experience.
It is reported that ABB's digital service team has more and more data experts and shipbuilders, which can better study the monitored ship assets and improve ship data reception.
