The reporter was informed on August 2, 2011 that Bridgestone Corporation recently announced that it plans to invest US$135 million to expand the production capacity of the Aiken Tire Plant in South Carolina. In 2013, it will increase its tire production capacity to 4,750 pieces per day.

According to reports, the factory will start construction in the fourth quarter of 2011. Equipment will be installed in the third quarter of 2012 and will be put into production in 2013. By the second quarter of 2013, the factory's production capacity will reach 29,750 pieces/day and 122 employees will be added.
