State Grid Corporation of China publicized the successful candidates recommended in the first batch of transformer equipment (including cables) bidding activities for power transmission and transformation projects in 2012. According to the results of the public announcement, it can basically infer the winning bids of the first batch of bidding projects of State Grid in 2012.

One device winning bid

Transformer: The total bidding capacity is 35549 MVA, of which, the transformer capacity of 330 KV and above accounts for 12.90%. Tianwei Baoji, TBEA, and China West Power are still the companies with the most successful bids, 15.69%, 10.41%, and 8,55%, respectively. China Light & Power Equipment Co., Ltd. Toshiba (Changzhou) Co., Ltd. accounted for 8.78% of the total. State Grid Transformer has strong contenders for bidding.

Circuit breaker: a total of 899 tenders, Pinggao Electric won 15.02%, ranking fourth; China Xideng won 68, accounting for 7.56%.

Assembled electrical appliances: A total of 1313 pitches were tendered, and the listed companies were still dominated by China Xidian, Pinggao Electric and Siyuan Electric. Among them, China Electric won 23.63%, ranking first; Pinggao Electric 14.66%; Electrically successful bid accounts for 8.23%.

Reactors: A total of 143 tenders were issued, and the listed companies were only Siyuan Electric, TBEA, and XJ Electric. Siyuan Electric won 12.59% of the bids; TBEA won 7.69%; Xuji Electric won 4.20%.

Capacitors: a total of 984 sets of tenders, Siyuan Electric, accounting for 16.26% of the successful bid, the share increased faster; China Xidian Zhongzhu accounted for 13.11%.

Secondary equipment tendering

An obvious change in bidding for secondary equipment is the increase in the proportion of intelligence. Statistics show that in the first batch of tenders in 2012, the intelligent rate of protection equipment reached 51.86%, which was nearly 10 percentage points higher than the sixth batch of tenders in 2011; the intelligent rate of monitoring equipment reached 69.84%, which was the sixth batch in 2011. Bidding increased by 27%. With the advancement of the smart grid, we expect that the proportion of secondary equipment intelligence will further increase in 2012.

Protection: 2,960 sets of equipment for protection of bids, and 25.44% of the bids for Nanrui’s successor, still ranking first. Followed by the State Power South, the proportion of 23.84%. Sifang’s shares accounted for 17.26%.

Monitoring: 252 sets of substation computer monitoring systems. Sifang’s shares accounted for 15.48%, ranking first with NARI. Siyuan Electric won 15.08% of the bid. Overall, the pattern of successful bids did not change much.

DC power equipment: 89 sets of tender DC power equipment. The percentage of electronic products won 12.36%; Altynx won 3.37%.
