Imidacloprid is an important insecticide species and can control various crop pests such as rice, fruit trees, vegetables, etc. It is a hot variety that has developed rapidly in China and is attracting attention from many companies. As of the end of 2009, 63 companies had obtained original drug registration certificates and 23 enterprises had obtained pesticide production licenses. The production process of imidacloprid is complicated and it is difficult to handle the three wastes. In recent years, due to the expansion of market demand at home and abroad, many enterprises that do not have the three-waste treatment conditions have started production, which has caused chaos in the market. In order to promote the sustainable development of the imidacloprid industry and carry out information exchange and cooperation among enterprises and promote industrial technological advancement, the China Pesticide Industry Association is scheduled to hold the Imidacloprid Industry Development Forum in Beijing on January 30, 2010, and initiated the establishment of the Imidacloprid Pesticide Product Collaborating Group.
