National Bureau of Statistics data show that in the first three quarters of last year, the comprehensive energy consumption of crude oil processing, caustic soda, soda ash, calcium carbide, ethylene, and synthetic ammonia dropped by 1.9%, 3.6%, 1.9%, 1.9%, 2.9%, and 1.8%, respectively. According to data from the State Environmental Protection Administration, the country’s two major pollutants, sulfur dioxide and chemical oxygen demand, fell for the first time in the first three quarters of last year.
