With the trend of super-large container ships becoming more and more fierce, the hull safety of 10,000-20,000 TEU-class super-large-sized ships has gradually been placed in front of shipbuilding companies and shipping companies. Since the birth of the ultra-large container ship, there has been an accident of hull breakage during the voyage. Large-scale shipbuilding companies in Korea have the most orders to build and undertake very large container ships, so ensuring hull safety has become a problem that these shipbuilding companies must solve.

The relevant person in charge of Hyundai Heavy Industries said that the hull safety of the ultra-large container ship is related to the quality of the production technology of the shipbuilding enterprise, and it also concerns the reputation of the enterprise in the customers and the market. The morphological structure of the various parts of the container ship's hull, the thickness, quality, strength and fatigue of the plate used should be adapted to the various external pressures it is subjected to during navigation. Therefore, its deep technical research related to KR's container ship hull safety has long-term market value, which is of great significance to Korean shipbuilding enterprises in improving technology and brand efficiency and market competitiveness.
