LiFi has evolved into a truly visible product

So, what is LiFi? LiFi full name LightFidelity, translated is the meaning of visible light wireless communications. Some people call this technology "photo-fidelity technology." The working principle of LiFi is to use the visible spectrum for data transmission. Visible light is the transmission source of the entire information transmission system. The controller controls the on-off of the light source so as to control the information transmission between the terminal receivers.

The LiFi technology was developed by a physicist named Herald Haas, a Chinese named Hallaard Haas. From October 2011 to the present, Herald Haas's LiFi technology has evolved to the third generation. The third generation of new product called "LiFi-X", from a conceptual theory has become a reality visible product.

WiFi has two major advantages over WiFi

LiFi powerful than WiFi mainly lies in these two points:

First, strong security. WiFi transmission is mainly the use of radio waves, the radio has a frequency, this frequency can be cracked. However, LiFi is the use of visible light for information transmission, light composition is complex, with wave-particle duality. In simple terms, it is safer to use light-emitting LiFi. WiFi access can be avoided outside the building, indoor information will not be leaked to the outdoors.

Second, speed. The world's fastest light speed, LiFi is the use of visible light for information transmission, and WiFi is a radio transmission. So LiFi spread faster than WiFi.

LiFi technology is still not mature enough

Although LiFi is more secure and faster than WiFi. However, the current LiFi technology still has all kinds of limitations.

First, reverse communication. Currently, the biggest limitation of LiFi technology should be reverse communication, from the LED light bulbs can transmit signals to the terminal, but how to ensure that the terminal reflects the signal back to the LED bulbs and has not been a perfect solution.

Second, communication distance. Although LiFi faster, but the transmission distance is not guaranteed. WiFi transmission distance is limited now. How to ensure that a LiFi device to meet the LiFi needs of the whole family is still an urgent need to be solved by scientists.

Third, interference with the environment. LiFi mainly rely on visible light for data transmission. Although LED lights can modulate light into the invisible range of the human eye, if the light is too bright, the normal transmission of LiFi will be affected. When the signal-to-noise ratio (the ratio of the normal electronic signal to the additional signal generated by the device) is too small, the transmission of information is distorted and the normal transmission of information is weakened.

The third generation of LiFi products now block the light source, data transmission will still be interrupted. LiFi technology is undoubtedly a better than WiFi data transmission technology, but because of all the limitations of universal access may take time.
