SAIC-GM-Wuling sold 133,250 units in January 2011, with a target of 1.3 million for the full year


Although the country suspended related preferential policies in 2011, Wuling's quality and brand influence still makes SAIC-GM-Wuling's micro-vehicle hot. In January, Wuling Motors sold 133,250 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 10.7%.

According to the data, in January 2011, Wuling Light's sales volume has exceeded 2.6 million units and its sales volume has reached 66,371, becoming the main model for sales in January; Wuling Rongguang sold 38,077 units in the “Big Micro-Week Time”. The first opener of the "12th Five-Year Plan" made SAIC-GM-Wuling full of confidence. The person in charge of the company stated that 2010 was an unusual year, and 2011 was a very significant year. In 2011, SAIC-GM-Wuling’s sales target was 1.3 million units.

In 2010, SAIC-GM-Wuling innovated. At the beginning of the year, a new replacement product for the mid-end micro-customer market, the new Wuling Light, was listed in Jinan. Then, Wuling Hongguang debuted at the Beijing International Motor Show, the first compact commercial vehicle under SAIC-GM-Wuling. At the end of the year, Guangxi Baojun 630, the first midsize sedan in Guangxi, was put on the line at SAIC-GM-Wuling, signifying that the company officially embarked on a new journey of “developing with merchants”. Driven by the light of the new Wuling, SAIC-GM-Wuling completed sales of 12,34,508 mini-vehicles in 2010, an increase of 16% year-on-year, exceeding the annual sales target of 1.23 million units.

In 2011, SAIC-GM-Wuling products upgraded and enjoyed innovation feedback. On January 25th, the results of the “2010 CCTV China Car of the Year” were announced in Beijing. The Wuling Hongguang 1.4L model has won the “Economy Passenger Car of the Year” award for its absolute superiority of small-displacement high-power and outstanding product performance.

In particular, it is worth mentioning that in the first half of 2011, Baojun 630, which was developed by SAIC-GM-Wuling, will be on the market and plans to produce 100,000 vehicles throughout the year. At present, Baojun brand investment progress is very smooth, Baojun 630 listed before the first batch of 150 dealers will join. High growth stimulated by policies is about to recede, and the industry growth in 2011 will return to normal. SAIC-GM-Wuling will continue to consolidate the micro-customer market's main competitive edge, continue to expand the competitive advantage of the micro-micro market, and create marketing competitiveness in the new market; and strive to achieve the transition from product competition to brand competition in the next three years.
