Following the official launch of the FAW-Volkswagen Vehicle Safety Center last month, on June 8th, FAW-Volkswagen's largest domestic vehicle testing ground project was formally laid. The test site is located in Nong'an County, which is about 70 kilometers away from Changchun. It covers an area of ​​14 square kilometers, and has a building area of ​​16,000 square meters. The total area of ​​test roads will reach 670,000 square meters. It is expected to be fully operational in 2014. This project is currently the largest domestic vehicle proving ground planned and constructed. Its foundation is an important symbol for FAW-Volkswagen's independent R&D capability construction. It also marks FAW-Volkswagen's international road test conditions.

According to relevant persons from FAW-Volkswagen, the test site will include experimental runways such as high-speed test tracks, comprehensive performance test roads, and durable alternating test roads, as well as comprehensive supporting test facilities. After completion, it will fully meet the automotive product quality appraisal tests and automobiles. The requirements for the research and verification of new product development and automotive standards and regulations provide important database support for the independent research and development of products. At the same time with a full range of road testing capabilities, can complete the development of all models currently testing FAW-Volkswagen.

According to relevant technical experts from FAW-Volkswagen, the vehicle testing ground will introduce comprehensive testing roads that are not yet available in China and the core technology of the German Volkswagen Vehicle Development Test Standard Process System, which will effectively increase the comprehensive road test level of FAW-Volkswagen. On the basis of this, the test field can also meet the road test needs of all FAW-Volkswagen models, and create a scientific, stable, safe, and efficient comprehensive test site for new product development, product quality control, hi-tech base application and research.
